February 07, 2012 - Another of the troubling aspects of Governor Jerry Brown's budget is the proposal to eliminate the Healthy Families program and shift all of the children it covers to Medi-Cal. Here in Alameda County, this would add approximately 22,000 children to the Medi-Cal roles at a time when realignment will almost certainly result in limitations on available funding for services, especially mental health services provided via EPSDT.
