November 05, 2010 - Capitol Alert reports today that Alameda County Superior Court Judge Wynne Carvill has blocked Governor Schwarzenegger's cut of child care services for CalWORKS recipients pending a decision in a lawsuit filed to overturn the cut. The child care program specifically helps parents who have ended CalWORKS and are now working, but can't afford to pay for child care on their own. Read the full story here.Read more »

April 23, 2010 - Supervisor Keith Carson convened the Alameda County Budget Work Group on both Monday April 19th and Wednesday the 21st. On Monday, County Comments 0Administrator Susan Muranishi presented the 2010-11 Maintenance of Effort Budget that identified the county's projected shortfall for next fiscal year at $184.4 million.
