Mission

To promote the general welfare of children who need protective care everywhere: at home, in the communities, in institutions and in public, private and religious schools.

Services

Support to Caregivers: Addresses issues of foster parents, guardianship and adoptive parents, and kinship placements.

Increase Awareness: Works to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges of foster home care, both by the persons involved in care and by the general public.

Training and Education: Encourages the training and education of personnel for work in the field of foster care, and encourages the recruitment and retention of foster parents.

About Alameda County Foster Parent Association

Founded informally in 1972 by a group of foster parents to create a support system for foster parents in California.
