Become a Member of FYA
The benefits of Individual Membership in FYA are similar to those of agency membership. The biggest benefit is proclaiming your commitment to improving the lives of foster and probation youth and securing your place in a community of dedicated individuals across the county. Whether you are a student, young adult, community member, or small business, membership in FYA offers you the chance to influence foster care and probation policy and practice in Alameda County and beyond.
Cost of Membership
There are four levels of individual membership to meet the needs of our various community members:
- $0 — youth and adults currently or formerly in the foster care or probation systems
- $25 — students
- $75 — Individual
- $150 — Family Membership *
- $300 — Small Business Membership *
*Family Memberships and Small Business Memberships come with additional discounted admissions to FYA events.

Here’s what FYA Individual Member Larry Robbin has to say:
“Many people say they are concerned about the plight of foster youth but don’t know what to do to help. I think two of the best ways to help are to do some volunteer work with a foster youth serving organization and to join the Alameda County Foster Youth Alliance. Supporting this organization is the best way I know to give support to a wide network of foster youth agencies that collectively work with thousands of foster youth. The Alliance has a very small staff but a huge impact through service provider trainings, convening important meetings, providing an outstanding newsletter and working in a variety of ways on every issue that effects foster youth. Because the organization operates with a minimum of overhead you can be sure that your membership dues are really being translated into action on behalf of foster youth. It would also be a great place to volunteer. The ripple effect of your membership dollars will really touch the lives of a lot of foster youth. So put your concern about foster youth into action and join the Foster Youth Alliance right now!”
