Former Foster Youth Sought for Dissertation Project

- J. Ash Bowie, a psychology graduate student at the Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, is currently seeking research participants for her doctoral dissertation.  Her study will look at the long-term impact of foster care on adult romantic relationships. Participants will be adult men and women between the ages of 18 and 26 who have had any past experience as a foster child. The method employs Internet-based questionnaires and is entirely confidential---no one will be mentioned by name in any context.

The entire study consists of several online items, which all together should take between 20 and 40 minutes. The items include a consent form, an anonymous demographic questionnaire, a questionnaire outlining past foster care placements, a questionnaire that measures how people feel and behave in close relationships, and two instruments that ask about symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Please share this recruitment flyer with potential participants, men and women between the ages of 18 and 26 who were placed in foster care as children. Potential participants are encouraged to begin the process by visiting the webpage www.fosterstudy.com on any Mac or PC.

Contact Ms. Bowie at ash@fosterstudy.com with any questions you might have.
