March 15, 2012 - Early Bird Registration ends tomorrow for Journey to Change 2012: Rising Above and Realizing our Full Potential, our transition age youth conference to be held on April 27th. The day's program is coming together, and it's going to be fantastic. Confirmed presenters include Evelyn Polk and Kareena Blackmon, who will present Foster Fusion: How's Your Heart Working in the Village?, a “meeting of the hearts” to support a sense of positive identity in the relationships between foster youth and the adults in their lives. Also on the program is nationally renowned youth employment expert Larry Robbin, who will present Innovative Strategies to Help Foster Youth Get Jobs, a look at the 'hidden job market' and the ways foster youth can tap into their strengths and overcome their challenges to get and keep a job. Check back next week for more program highlights!
Wanna attend for free? We're looking for volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, registration, meals, and more. Contact Francisco Alvarado from FYA at falvarado@fosteryouthalliance.org for more information.
