ACSSA Director to Address Assembly Select Committee on Boys and Men of Color

- Lori Jones, Alameda County’s Social Services Agency Director, will address the California Assembly’s Boys and Men of Color Select Committee in a hearing at Oakland’s Elihu Harris State Office Building on January 20 at 1 p.m. The event will bring policy makers from around the state together to address disparities in areas such as education, health care, employment, and the criminal justice system.

“I am delighted at the opportunity to address the committee, which is bringing these disparities into a statewide conversation,” said Ms. Jones, who added that she will address the committee from the unique perspective of a new system leader.

She will also discuss how specific Agency programs respond to the needs of boys and men of color through inter-agency collaboration and strengthening community partnerships. “As policy makers we can build seamless integrated service delivery systems that respond to the needs of this population,” she noted.
