When Behavior Interferes with Learning: Improving Education Outcomes for Children in Foster Care with Emotional and Behavioral Challenges

Events for Professionals

About this event

From birth to adulthood, children are learning not only academically, but socially, emotionally & behaviorally to navigate their worlds effectively. Many children who experience early trauma or other risk factors that bring them into the child welfare system struggle with self–regulation, self–control & behavior at school. As a result, children in foster care are often excluded from learning opportunities because they are removed from the learning environment due to behavior. Learn what can be done in these situations, and how to make sure a child gets the help needed to address these issues early and effectively.
